The Neve 8816 makes the legendary sound of Neve summing available to computer-based producers. Using the same transformer mixing topology as the classic 80 Series console, with two custom Carnhill transformers on the stereo mix bus output plus a unique 'Stereo Width' control as found in professional mastering studios, the 8816 delivers the open, punchy mixes for which Neve consoles are renowned.
Hand-built at Neve's factory in England, the 8816 gives engineers and producers a true Neve summing mixer comprising 16 input channels with +15dB gain, level, pan, cut/solo and cue controls. A post-insert mix function allows for mixing in a separate stem or blending the mix with a special effect.
Add four monitor sources, two sets of speakers, independent monitor level control, talkback mic, cue send and headphone outs, and the 8816 effectively upgrades a DAW to a professional mixing facility, with settings savable via USB to PC/Mac.
Options include digital output via the 8816's acclaimed A/D conversion option (supporting standard sample rates to 192kHz and direct conversion to DSD) and the 8804 Fader Pack (hands-on control via 18 long-throw faders). Multiple 8816s can be cascaded via a dedicated 2-track bus.
