The AT897 short shotgun condenser microphone is designed so efficiently you'll barely know it's there, letting you fully concentrate on the task at hand. Weighing about 5 ounces and not even 11 inches long, it conveniently mounts on a DV camcorder without adding noticeable heft and easily stays out of the frame on wide shots.

The AT897’s narrow acceptance angle provides remarkable long distance audio pickup, and compared to other similarly priced shotgun mics it boasts much smoother and natural on-axis audio quality. Its line + gradient polar pattern delivers strong off-axis rejection of sounds coming from the sides and rear, and it also features a low frequency roll-off switch to help further eliminate unwanted sound.
