- Main Features:
- Video: Encodes and decodes video using the H.264 codec standard, delivering high-quality video at low network bandwidth. LiveShot utilizes the H.264 High Profile for optimal image quality, implementing advanced options often omitted by competing products to maximize performance over poor networks while reducing latency.
- Latency: Supports audio/video encode and decode delays of less than 200 mS, depending on encoding mode and network conditions. An automatic decoder buffer manager minimizes latency, based on proven technology from the Comrex BRIC series.
- Audio: Supports standard AAC as well as HE-AAC and AAC-ELD audio codecs, reducing bandwidth usage and lowering delay. Built on Comrex’s extensive experience in low-latency broadcast audio over IP networks.
- Channels: Provides full-duplex video and stereo audio between portable and studio systems, plus a full-duplex cue channel. Return audio/video can be delivered via output connectors or streamed to a mobile device through the built-in Wi-Fi access point. Cue audio is available via wired or Bluetooth headsets.
- Control: Can be remotely controlled via the Comrex-maintained LiveShot Central server from any web browser, regardless of public or private IP addressing. Local control is also available through a mobile-optimized web interface served from the internal Wi-Fi access point, independent of media channels.
- Store and Forward: Includes an internal SD card slot for recording audio and video. Recorded files can be managed and uploaded to the studio, and a rolling buffer of the live stream can be captured and forwarded on demand for better-than-live quality.
- Portable Design: Compact and lightweight construction with Anton Bauer-style Gold Mounts for mounting between a professional camera and battery. Can be powered from a battery or external AC supply. Consumes 8 watts of power and weighs 5 pounds.
- Wireless Connectivity: Supports Ethernet and wireless modem connections via two USB ports, which can be used simultaneously to increase bandwidth. Includes flexible gooseneck USB adapters for improved modem placement, a high-gain Wi-Fi USB adapter, and support for a wide range of 3G and 4G modems. Ethernet connectivity supports Inmarsat satellite terminals.
- A/V Connections (LiveShot Studio): Inputs include HD/SDI and composite video, audio via HD/SDI, analog XLR-3F, and AES (BNC). Outputs include HD/SDI and composite video, audio via HD/SDI, analog XLR-3M, and AES (BNC). Cue connections include XLR-3F input and XLR-3M output.
