The Orban Optimod-PC (model # PC1101E) PCIe card now has new v2 DSP code that brings Orban's Optimod 8500(HD)-class processing to the PC, tailoring your audio signal to help you compete in digital audio broadcasting (DAB), HD2 Supplemental Channel, Internet web/netcasting, podcasting and mastering applications.
Without proper processing, audio can sound dull, thin, or inconsistent. But Optimod-PC's multiband processing automatically levels and re-equalizes its input to the "major-market" standards expected by the mass audience. Broadcasters have known for decades that this polished, produced sound attracts and holds listeners. Now, Orban's broadcast-quality Optimod processing is available to you on a PCIe sound card - an economical, space-saving alternative to conventional stand-alone boxes. Audio I/O is internal through included drivers, via a DB-25 connection, or through an optional breakout XLR cable.
Optimod-PC has on-board digital signal processing that's suitable for both live streaming and on-demand programming. The DSP provides a loud, consistent sound to the consumer by performing automatic gain control, equalization, multiband gain control, and peak-level control. But thanks to its tight integration into the PC, the Optimod-PC offers more features than stand-alone processors. The control software and driver can control an Optimod-PC card on a local computer or anywhere on a customer's network. The Optimod-PC is also a professional-quality sound card with analog and AES/EBU inputs and outputs. Onboard Motorola 56362 DSP chips perform all audio processing, freeing the host CPU and keeping your system fast. Sound card emulation also allows the Optimod-PC to talk through the operating system to applications running on the host.
