The Omnia.9 FM processor boasts simultaneous separate processing cores for FM and Optional HD, delivering superb audio punch, power and clarity in a 3-RU rack unit. Among its many features is exclusive “Undo” technology, a source declipping algorithm and program-adaptive multiband expander that removes distortion from source material, correcting over-processed CDs, so common in today's contemporary music.
Psychoacoustic distortion masking clipper allows virtually distortion-free audio (including IM distortion) even at competitive loudness levels for unprecedented clarity on the air for both FM and AM. Allows 140% audio peaks at 100% modulation when using composite output for clear highs even with 75us pre-emphasis. Contains proprietary "Undo" technology, which corrects over-processed source material (common in contemporary music) by literally removing distortion (declipping) and restoring dynamics (decompression). Intelligent multi-stage wideband AGC with side-chain equalization for unobtrusive gain riding over a 36dB range. Separate bass processor with transient enhancement to maintain bass punch. Two to seven bands of multi-band AGC and limiting allows full control over spectral balance and consistency. Rock-solid ITU-BS.412 MPX power controller for competitive loudness and peace of mind. Exclusive "Auto Pilot" feature suppresses the 19kHz stereo pilot during mono material for a radical 12dB signal-to-noise improvement when you need it the most. MPX composite baseband over AES (Omnia Direct).
A very low-latency independent Studio output is provided for talent monitoring, while hundreds of patch points within the signal path allow monitoring of audio as it passes through various input, output, and processing stages. These patch points are also available on the built-in oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and RTA instrumentation to provide a corresponding visual reference. Patch points can be monitored locally or seamlessly streamed through the included NFRemote remote software, all without affecting any on-air output. A built-in speaker calibration feature simplifies creating a reference environment to ensure accurate processing adjustments.
Dual-path version with all options includes everything included in the base model plus RDS and processing for two separate program paths, such as two FM stations and one AM station. To use this unit on three transmitters, the AM station must be a 100% simulcast of one of the two FM stations. Separate HD processing and IP stream encoding with independent processing as well as low-latency studio outputs are included for both paths. The various processing paths can be assigned to the dual MPX outputs, three AES I/O, and one analog I/O, in addition to the streaming encoders.
Dual independent power supplies are standard. RDS, HD, and streaming features bundled in this version can be purchased as individual options in base model. 3RU. 19” wide, 17” deep, 5” tall. 28 pounds
NOTE: if broadcasting from the same transmitter site and programming is 100% simulcast, this unit can SIMULTANEOUSLY process BOTH AM and FM.
