If you could record at any studio at any time in history, admit it - you'd want to record at Abbey Road in the late 60s/early 70s. Why? Because the best sounding records of all time were made there and then. Chandler recreates the classic EMI TG12413 Limiter used in custom EMI and Abbey Road recording and mastering consoles from the late 60s. Originally designed to be like the Fairchild 660/670 which was loved by many EMI engineers, including Geoff Emerick, it ended up with a very special sound all its own.
TG equipment was used on many classic records and this Limiter was featured on every channel of TG consoles used to record The Beatles "Abbey Road", several Pink Floyd records including "Dark Side of the Moon", Paul McCartney, and the Rolling Stones. Made from the original Abbey Road circuit board drawings, the Limiter/Compressor features an all discrete circuit with transformer balanced input and output. You'll think you died and went to a Beatles session (otherwise known as heaven).
• Warm, open sound that maintains clarity and high frequency response
• 21 position Output/Makeup switch set to 1dB steps for +/- 10dB of output adjustment for level matching as well as accurate, recallable gain make up
• Harmonic Distortion Function lets you bypass the compressor/limiter threshold but leaves all circuits in the signal path, turning the unit into a powerful Harmonic Distortion generator capable of kicking out up to 2% Total Harmonic Distortion-more than 2 times the amount of analog tape!
• Compress/Limit Function offers a limiter with a classic pumping/breathing sound, and a compressor with a unique sound all its own-both can be either mean and nasty or angelically subtle depending on your settings
• Precision Input Control Pots give better control of the unit at lower amounts of compression, better overall resolution of the limiter, and "less" gain reduction
